Melinda Frederick is the Chief Executive Officer at Community Innovations Inc. and has worked for the organization for over a decade.

With over 27 years in the behavioral health field in Florida and North Carolina, Melinda, a National Board Certified counselor and NC LPC has provided therapy and assessment for people of all ages in all types of settings, and served as a leader, clinician, and supervisor for other behavioral health professionals, as well as a clinical trainer and training director. For the past five years, Melinda has focused on provision of IDD services as quality management director for CI. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, both from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. 

Melinda strives to develop innovative methods to help care providers increase their effectiveness and exceed standards of care and service. A passionate, versatile, and experienced professional, Melinda continues to embrace the challenges of meeting the needs of people in the fast-changing environment of the 21st century.

Laura is a graduate of UNC-Pembroke with a BA in Mathematics and an MA in Counseling and has over 22 years experience working with IDD individuals. She has worked for multiple IDD provider companies in a variety of roles including behavioral analyst, program (site) manager, Qualified Professional (clinician) and now director of all of CI’s ICF/IDD services for the past 5 years. She directs the operations of fifteen facilities and four day activity centers. Laura has one daughter and one grandson and is an avid reader.

Amanda L. Cade is the Quality Management and Training Director for Community Innovations and Hughes BMHS. Ms. Cade holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University. Ms. Cade has been working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 33 years. She began her career as a behavior specialist working with people with severe behavioral and mental health challenges. Previous roles include Quality Improvement Director for the Mentor Network, Executive Director for Evergreen Life Services and Vice President of Marketing for The Council on Quality and Leadership.
